The 2nd Annual Gulf Shores Christmas Parade and Christmas at the Beach was held today. The parade started at Clubhouse Drive on Gulf Shores Parkway and ended at the Gulf Shores Public Beach.
And What a Special Day it was for both locals and visitors!
There was a parade with lots of floats, bands, dancers, clubs, antique cars, and fire trucks too - throwing candy and presents into the streets.
And at the end of the parade sitting right on the beach front was family fun for all ages, the young and the old. Festivities included: Writing letters to Santa, cupcake decorating, visiting with Santa & getting your picture made, the Lighting of our 3 Palm Trees, young caroler's caroling around the trees, a live Nativity Scene with exotic animals, and the "Midnight Confessions" a local house band. Not to leave out the Yummy Hot Chocolate, Cupcakes, and Peppermint Orange Treats (tiny little oranges with a peppermint stuck in top) Yum Yumm Yummy.
Also here live, all the way from the North Pole, were some
Very Very Special Guest that Came For The Day Just To Spend Christmas In Paradise. There was of course Jolly Saint Nick and a few of his Elves, Rudolph, The Gingerbread Man, and making a special appearance "The Grinch".
We had a live Nativity Scene including; Sheep, chickens, rabbits, donkeys and goats - And Two Live CAMELS ( yes, you heard me right). Never thought I would see CAMELS on the white sandy beaches of Gulf Shores.
I hope you enjoy the pictures I made.
Maybe next year we will see you here too!
